A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If I put a ring from my discard pile into my hand (via Seeking the Path or Temple of the Seekers) during the same turn that I used its ability, can I use its ability again? That is, does it "forget" the fact that it was used earlier during the turn?
I initially thought that the ring would "remember" because I was under the impression that face-up cards that go back to hand remain face-up, but the following ruling on the retrieval of a copy of Brothers-in-arms seem to contradict that: http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=74793&p=979465&hilit=deadly+orders#p979494

Seeking the Path Focus Effect: You may increase the Focus Value of one of your focused cards that is a Ring by 1. Open: Destroy this Spell: Put a target Ring in your discard pile into your hand.
Temple of the Seekers Temple • Legacy • Singular Bow this card: Produce 2 Gold. Open: Target a Ring you control and destroy this card: Search your deck and discard pile for a Ring. Show it. Put it in your hand.

Cards in your hand are now considered face down, regardless of what state they were in before they got into your hand.
If you use the Ring of Void by discarding it, put it into your hand via Temple to Seekers, you may use its ability again.
