Doomed Intentions

L5R CCG Rules board, 30 March 2009 to 31 March 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If I attempt to doomed intentions a unit with imperial elite guard(only card with an action on it in the unit) and its movement is negated with hamstrung or bayushi tsimaru exp since the action on imperial elite guard doesn't say opposed can i still blow up a card at the current battle field or will the action go off and do nothing.

The additional action granted by Doomed Intentions is still subject to the Rules of Location and Presence. If the unit you tried to move fails to move to the battlefield you will usually fail to satisfy Location, because Doomed Intentions says the ability you use must be on a card in the unit and the Rule of Location says the unit must be at the current battlefield.
