Hey just a quick request for the rules team. I know you guys don't want to make a hasty judgment on claiming the throne but some people actually run this card in decks, can we get a ruling by Friday night (night before first kotei) ?

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Hey just a quick request for the rules team. I know you guys don't want to make a hasty judgment on claiming the throne but some people actually run this card in decks, can we get a ruling by Friday night (night before first kotei) ?
The exact wording will come sometime tomorrow but judges should treat the favor discard and gold payment as costs. This means you must control the favor to pay that cost normally and gold payment works as intended. Consider this official.
PS: If the favor discard is a cost that also means you can use alternate means such as Commanding Favor. See here.
