Here are a bunch of legacy format questions
1.) If a player uses the reaction on Kaiu Sugimoto Exp in response to the opposing player announcing the Equip action (say to attach a follower), does the opposing player need to bow a personality every time he attaches using the Equip action for the rest of the turn?
2.) Does Ninja Thief target anything (the item or either personalities)? The action says "Move" which, in the case of Legacy, means transfer, but the card says nothing about targeting anything. If it does not target the item or the personality to which the item was initially attached to (prior to the resolution of Ninja Thief's effect), can I use Ninja Thief to transfer my opponent's Kitsuki Kaagi's Journal to my personality?
3.) In line with the previous question can you use the Share action to transfer Kitsuki Kaagi's Journal from one of my personalities to another since the Share action does not target any cards in the Journal's unit?
Relevant Texts:
Kaiu Sugimoto Crab Clan Hero • Samurai • Yu 5 • Experienced Keeper of Earth • Unique Elemental Reaction: Once per turn, even if Sugimoto is bowed, after an action is announced: Add "Target and bow a Personality you control" to the action's cost.
Ninja Thief Limited: Move an Item from one Personality to another. Lose 3 Honor.
Kitsuki Kaagi's Journal Unique Cards in this unit may not be targeted with actions. Actions which target ninja can target cards in this unit, however, even if the target card is not a ninja. This personality may not produce honor gains in any fashion. Reaction: Bow the journal to cancel any ninja or kolat action that is not targeting this unit.
Equip Limited: Any number of times per turn, target one of your Personalities: Attach a target attachment card from your hand to him (paying all costs).
Share Open: Bow one of your attachments: Transfer it to another of your target Personalities who can legally attach it.

No. Sugimoto only affects that one action, he doesn't modify the ability. See Abilities and actions:
Abilities are pieces of text on a card, or applying to a player, that may be used to take actions.
See For cards printed prior to DAWN OF THE EMPIRE:
An action targets whenever it requires a choice to be made of what card it affects, or what card pays the non-gold costs of the action.
Ninja Thief targets the Item and the Personality to whom the item is transfered, but not the Personality to whom the item is initially attached, since that Personality is implied by the choice of Item.
3.) In line with the previous question can you use the Share action to transfer Kitsuki Kaagi's Journal from one of my personalities to another since the Share action does not target any cards in the Journal's unit?
Well, you can use the Share action to transfer it between your Personalities, or I can use it to transfer it between my Personalities. I can't use it to transfer it between your Personalities.

In regards to this topic http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=74264
If the journal belongs to his opponent, it was my understanding that he cannot transfer it between his personalities, as the share action affects "your" target attachment, and "your" implies that you both own and control the card that it is describing. Is this incorrect?

Yes, this is incorrect.
http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_X-Z: "When “your” and other possessive forms such as “the player’s” or “his” refer to a card, this means “controlled by that player" if the card is in play, or "owned by that player" if the card is not in play."
