L5R CCG Rules board, 19 January 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Battle: If any enemy units are at the current battlefield, target your unbowed Monk or Shugenja: Move him there. If he has the Water keyword, you may target another of your units and move it there. If it moved, straighten it.

That last sentence, "if it moved, straighten it." Does that apply only to the unit targetted with this part:

"you may target another of your units and move it there" ?

If it were to be broken down, and I chose not to target another of my units, would the straighten happen for my unbowed Monk or Shugenja's unit?

The "straighten it" clause is ONLY for the additional movement conditional on if the performing Monk or Shugenja as the Water keyword.

The Targeted (Performing) Monk or Shugenja will not straighten with Buoyed by the Kami.
