Noble Halls of the Akodo and Ancestors

L5R CCG Rules board, 2 September 2008 to 3 September 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Nobles Halls of the Akodo Your Lion Clan Shugenja can attach other Clan's Ancestors.

From Rules.l5r.com:

"An ancestor that has a faction alignment printed on it can only attach to a personality of that faction, and is destroyed if the attached personality ever loses that faction keyword."

If I have a Lion shugenja in play and attach a non-Lion ancestor to him, is the ancestor immediately destroyed?

Edit: Also,

"All players have the ability “Reaction: Any number of times per turn, after one of your Personalities enters play: Attach an Ancestor card from your hand to him (paying all costs).”"

Do I still have the option of attaching an ancestor to a personality during my Limited phase, bowing it as normal?

No. Older cards were a little less strict in their wording, so this should not be interpreted as any sort of change to the meaning of attach on Samurai Edition cards.

Yes. Because it's an attachment, you can attach it using any ability that allows you to attach one, eg the standard Equip Limited ability - with the additional cost, as stated a few lines down, of bowing the Personality.
