Wedge and will verse battle resolution

L5R CCG Rules board, 23 August 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Would like to know this answer for a friend: here is his question:

ok, so i have another rules question. in the rulebook, it states that if a personality has been through a battle resolution, that he can not assign or move to battlefields for the rest of the turn. the question is, if i am attacking 2 separate provinces, and i Wedge my guy at one battlefield and crunch, he dies, but at the second battlefield, can i use Will to bring him into play in my current army even though he's been through a battle resolution? and if so, using the tracking rule, would he still be wedged? Entering play is not moving. Yes.

Note: Entering play is subject to the Rule of Presence and doesn't get the exception that movement does.

On: Wedge

Would he still be wedged?

If you mean would force bonus still be there, yes. http://rules.l5r.com/Effects#Duration_of_effects: "Ongoing effects last until the end of the turn in which they occur unless otherwise indicated."
