Doomed Intentions

Hi,

I tried searching for this but I couldn't find an answer that definitively answers my question.

My opponent has Isawa Mizuhiko(3G Phoenix Naval guy) with Seeking the Way attached, unbowed at home. He plays Doomed Intentions on defense and attempts to move him into my battlefield. I negate his movement with Bayushi Tsimaru XP. After this scenario:

- Does he still get the additional action?

- Since he is not present to use the action, does he have to pass? Or does the action simply not take place because he's not there?

- If he has to pass because he can't take the action, and I pass, then does the Battle go to resolution, since we both passed?

Thanks.

Yes. This is in the FAQ. http://rules.l5r.com/FAQ#If_one_effect_ ... _happen.3F

Since he is not present to use the action, does he have to pass?

Yes. http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_A#Additional: 'A granted action opportunity can be used to pass."

If he has to pass because he can't take the action, and I pass, then does the Battle go to resolution, since we both passed?

http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_A#Additional: "A granted additional action does not count against the normal sequence of actions in the current segment or phase; for example, an additional Battle action is taken without waiting for, or expending, the next normal chance to take a Battle action." (Emphasis added.) No.
