Seven Stings Keep + Denounced on Stage

L5R CCG Rules board, 16 July 2008 to 29 July 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Assuming the version of Seven Stings Keep is in it's final form, and this question is applicable:

If a player plays denounced on stage and then a player is targeted by Seven Stings Keep and has lost a number of provinces greater than one, What happens?

Let's use two destroyed provinces in our example for clarity's sake. 1 copy of Denounced on Stage is played. The opponent(s) pass/es. The limited action on Seven Stings Keep is used. Does the target player loses 2 honor which is then increased to 3 for the first province, and 2 honor for the second province which is also then increased to 3? Or does the player lose 4 honor which is then increased to 5? The way it is currently worded, the former appears true to me, but the spirit of past rules junta rulings would seem to indicate the latter.

Thank you.

...

Seven Stings Keep- Limited: A target player loses 2 honor for each of his provinces that have been destroyed this game.

Denounced on Stage- Political Limited: Target one of your Artisan or Courtier Personalities: For the rest of the turn, before each time a player loses Honor, increase the loss by 1.

Sorry, but the Rules Team doesn't answer questions about cards based on previews.

My opponent has lost 2 provinces. I play Denounced on Stage and than I use the Limited Action on Seven Stings Keep.

So here is the question: How may Honor loses my opponent?

I think two answers are possible: 1. He loses 5 Honor, because he suffers an Honor loss of 4, which is inceased by 1. 2. He loses 6 Honor, because he suffers two Honor losses of 2, which are both increased by 1.

Which answer is the right one?

Until I have the card, I can't give a definitive answer; depending on the exact text, the Glossary entry for For each may be relevant.
