So, what the subject says. Will Preparing Stockpiles negate the movement caused by the Ninja Stronghold? I ask b/c I'm a little fuzzy on whether Legacy Strongholds count as "cards" per Preparing's wording.
Preparing Stockpiles vs. The Dark Path of Shadow
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Yes, Preparing Stockpiles can negate the movement.
The only special Legacy rule about "cards" v. "Strongholds" is this: For cards printed before Khan's Defiance: "Uses of the word "card" does not refer to Strongholds unless explicitly stated (ie "actions on cards" does not refer to actions on a Stronghold). [ADDED April 08 2008]"
Stockpiles was printed after KD, so it follows regular SE rules that its reference to "card effects" can mean Stronghold effects.
