i saw the ruling on Shinjo's courage, and was wondering, If you take a person with zero force and use this card to give them a force penalty, it reduces their force to negative, which would return their force to zero. Then you still enacted a change in force values on the card you targeted. thus triggering the destruction with Shinjo's courage. Am I correct in this interpretation, or does it not go off because the end result ends up with the same value in which you started with?
shinjo's courage and 0 force
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Shinjo's Courage: "Battle: Target one of your unbowed Personalities and a target Follower, or unbowed Personality without Followers, opposing him: Reduce the opposing target’s Force by the difference in Personal Honor between the targets’ units’ Personalities. If this reduced its Force to 0, destroy it and gain Honor equal to your Personality’s Personal Honor."
If the Force of the target is initially 0, it cannot be "reduced", so the card is not destroyed.
