Here are the cards that will be involved in this question
Kyuden Kyotei Political Reaction: Even if this Stronghold is bowed, if you control the Imperial Favor, before a Fate card out of play turns face-up: Give the card +1 Focus Value when it turns face-up.
Gunso Chitose Political Reaction: Even if this card is bowed, after a Political action resolves: Straighten this unit.
Any Doji Courtier, for example, I'll choose Doji Ayano (non-experienced)
And so it is exactly clear what I mean by this, I'll include the card that made me think of this
Two-Front War Political Battle: Bow one of your target Courtiers, even in your home: Target a number of your Personalities up to his Chi. Move them home, or move them to the current battlefield if any enemy units are there. Straighten the targets' units if this moved them into a defending army.
Now the Scenario. I control the Imperial Favor. Gunso Chitose is attached to Ayano, and both are bowed. I have no other courtiers in play. I haven't used either of the above reactions yet. We are taking actions during the combat segment at a battlefield where my opponent controls a personality.
Can I do the following:
I announce that I intend to play a card from my hand, and prepare to reveal the card to show what ability on the card is going to be used. I use Kyuden Kyotei's reaction to increase the upcoming focus value by one I use the reaction on Gunso Chitose to straighten Ayano's unit, in response to that political reaction. I resume with playing action from hand, which is revealed to be Two-Front War. I then target Ayano as the personality performing the action, who is a target courtier and able to bow to pay the required cost of Two-Front War.
As a follow up, how would this ruling change if I was playing a card that said "Target an unbowed Courtier you control"?
