A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
A player, 7 April 2008
If Poisoned Gift is transfered to an opponent's character using it's Ninja Open action, does it become an item under their control? Ie, can they later bow it to transfer to another of their personalities with the Rulebook Open sharing action? This would not seem to be the intent of the card. The same question also applies to Phial of Poison, from the Scorpion Clan Pack.
Poisoned Gift If this Personality is not a Ninja, he cannot use his own base abilities. Ninja Open: If this Personality is a Ninja, bow this card: Transfer this card to a target Personality.
Phial of Poison While this card is attached to a non-Ninja Personality, remove all his traits (not keywords). Ninja Open: If this card is attached to a Ninja: Transfer this card to another player's target Personality.

By the above text, yes.
Ie, can they later bow it to transfer to another of their personalities with the Rulebook Open sharing action?
Yes.
This would not seem to be the intent of the card.
That's not a question for the rules team.
The same question also applies to Phial of Poison, from the Scorpion Clan Pack.
I can't answer questions on this card yet.
