A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Welcome new rule team members, I was wondering if you can help clarify the following:
Honor's Veil Card Clarifications Kyuden Kyotei, Reaction: The Tracking Rule implies that the +1 FV bonus ends when the card turns face-down again - for example, after it turns face-down as part of being shown from the hand. Nonetheless, an effect that refers to the Focus Value of the shown card will use the last value from when the card was face-up, and this will include the +1 bonus.
Does this mean a card that has been previously shown from hand (ie. turned face-up) with the +1 FV bonus was returned to hand (ie. turned face-down) was subsequently shown from hand again (ie. turned face-up) would regain the +1 FV?
The Tracking Rule refers to "the last face-up state of the card is what is actually checked", does this refer to the current face-up state or the previous face-up state?

The bonus is gone for good once the card turns face-down. However, so is all knowledge of the card's stats. Hence, you don't use the card's current value; you use its last known value - which happened to have the bonus.

The game doesn't track or acknowledge that it was the same card you revealed the first time.
