Roshungi + Katashi

L5R CCG Rules board, 22 February 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Roshungi Force/Chi: 3 / 3 Ho/Co/PH: - / 6 / 0 Spider Clan. Monk. Shadowlands. Lose 3 Honor. Open: Bow Roshungi: A target Ring loses all abilities (until this turn ends).

Rulings: 1. The Ring is completely ignored. It does not count towards an Enlightenment Victory, Prayer Shrine gold production, etc. It cannot even be targeted. Pretend the Ring isn't there at all. [DW, 2/5/2000] 2. Does not trigger "leaving play" effects for the targeted Ring (e.g., Kolat Chambers). [ZF, 1 August 2000]

Katashi Force/Chi: 4 / 3 Ho/Co/PH: - / 7 / 1 Spider Clan. Monk. Shadowlands. Limited: If your Family Honor is lower than 0 and you control no Rings, bow Katashi: Put a target Ring from your hand or discard pile into play.

That Roshungi ruling is ancient, and concerns an earlier printing.

No.
