Determination and Chi death vs minimum Chi

L5R CCG Rules board, 30 October 2007 to 2 November 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Say a Personality has an effect on it that gives it a positive minimum Chi (either a Clan armor, or a Crab with Hida Kuon XP5 in the same location - possibly Kuon himself).

If I give the Personality with an action (say, Kyuden Wasuremono's ability) that would be enough to bring him to 0C if it were not for the minimum Chi, and use Determination when I announce the action, does the Personality die for having 0 Chi?

Minimum and Maximums do not Negate anything. They cause you to treat a stat as a value it would otherwise not be calculated to. Determination has no effect on them.
