Standard Bearers trait follow-up (L5R rules board)

Hi. Because this is soo hard question that no one aswered it for 3 weeks, I'm reposting it...

Text : After Resolution Segment ends, if this card was in the winning army and was opposed at any time during that battle: Gain 3 honor.

Is this the same as : "this card was in winning army during resolution, and opposed at any time" , or maybe "this card was in winning army at any time, and opposed as any time" ?

If this card is in discard pile for any reason, could I use it's trait if other requirements are fulfilled ? This means any situation which kills card in winning army (for example - Yu, or To the last man) ...
