A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
A player, 7 October 2007
The rule book already has a specific rule on Reactions triggering off of delayed resolutions. It is on PG 56. The below ruling seems to be counter to the rulebook. Though I do understand that an action can resolve before it's delayed effects happen, there is already in place an exception dealing with triggers on delayed effects. I'd imagine it was put in to deal with confusing situations like this and reactions to delayed effects so that cards can be played as they are read, and not reacting confusing situations like this where a player has to explain to their opponent whey they can't react off wedge.
That Way I don't need to go through every singe card combo to figure out how they react together per the extension of the ruling below. Samurai was supposed to end the situation where I sit and spend 10 minutes explaining a rule clarification to my opponent. In this case I like pointing out pg 56.
“ The final ruling is that Adeiko's Reaction triggers after the Action, Battle Resolution, or Event is considered to have finished its Resolution - not the Resolution of a particular effect of the Action. If the destruction effect hasn't happened by then ('delayed effect') then it won't trigger Adeiko when it does get around to happening.” & viewtopic.php?f=59&t=62176
PG 30 of rule book on effects
If all targets are met and costs are paid, resolve the action’s effects in the order they are mentioned. Once effects start to resolve, they continue resolving, no matter what happens to the card they came from.
( implying the card can be resolved later on)
PG 52 Definition of resolve.
To apply effects of an action, trait or Event; also, to determine the winner of a duel or battle. An action begins to resolve after its costs have been paid. It stops resolving when the last effect (apart from delayed effects) has been applied.
Though the above Implys that if you are looking for the resolution of an action delayed effects happen after that.
PG 56 Timing conflicts
“If things are triggered at the same time and their order needs to be determined, the active player decides their order. Exception: Reactions to a given trigger occur after triggered traits and delayed effects that are keyed to that trigger, and follow an action round .”
States specificially that Reactions to Delayed effects follow an action around. Which seems to imply that even though the action resolves there is a specific rule that states that Reactions like Adieko follow the action around.

Pg. 56 of the Samurai Edition rulebook is not terribly relevant due to Cardinal Rule 3.
http://rules.l5r.com/Cardinal_rules: "Rules vs. rules: If the text of any other rules document (such as the rulebook or rulesheet in starter boxes) contradicts these Comprehensive Rules, follow the most recent online version of the Comprehensive Rules."
Mod note: The Shosuro Adeiko ruling has been thoroughly reviewed by the Rules Junta. Concerns about the intuitiveness of the outcome of this rule have been noted, and may (or may not) be addressed in the future. Thanks!
