Ring of Water, and performing actions

L5R CCG Rules board, 4 September 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 4 September 2007

Does the choice of location that ring of water moves to (Home or Opposed Battlefield) target any location? Or is it simply a choice between different effects that result in movement to different locations. Simply put: Can someone play the card Misdirection to choose where I move to?

Does a follower performing an action count as the personality performing the action as well?

There is no implicit targeting. If the word "target" is there, it does. If it isn't, it doesn't.

In general, nothing is performed by two things at once. Could be possible with specific card text, but it won't occur by default. (Clarified.)
