Re: Traveling Magistrate, Conjunction & Parsing

L5R CCG Rules board, 29 August 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

The modifier is outside of the "a X or a Y" clause. If the modifier were between either of the "a X" or "a Y" clauses, then you would be correct. Quote: ChrisF, Topic: Conjunction & Parsing

(card text from Traveling Magistrate) Political Reaction: When paying a Gold Cost of a Fate card or an action during a battle: Produce 2 Gold.

I think this needs further consideration, the card text is; "a B" or "an A". "an A" possibly being equivalent to "a Y"?

If this is not so, I believe the Wiki needs editing to include situations outside "a [modifier] X or Y", "a [modifier] X and Y", "a [modifier] X or a Y" or "a [modifier] X and a Y". Specifically, where X and/or Y are not singular, or where X and/or Y do not start with a consonant.
