Can the gold producing traits on Fortified Camp and Castle Barracks pay for Hida Dayu's ability? Will the Reaction on Fortified Camp 'save' a Follower created by Hida Dayu's ability?
Hida Dayu Limited: Pay 3 Gold: Create a 2F Follower card and attach it to one of your target Crab Clan Hero Personalities.
Fortified Camp Bow this card: Produce 2 Gold, or produce 3 Gold if paying for an attachment. Reaction: After another player’s action destroys one of your attachment cards or it’s Personality: Attach the card to one of your target Personalities (paying all costs).
Castle Barracks Bow this card: Produce 2 Gold, or 3 Gold when paying for a Follower.

No and no. Paying for an action that creates a follower is not the same as paying for an attachment.
Created cards only exist in play, and are removed from the game if they ever leave play. ( http://rules.l5r.com/Card_features#Created_cards )
