RE: Triumph of Courage

L5R CCG Rules board, 24 August 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

RE: This.

Pardon me, but I believe the linked question was misinterpreted, leading to an erroneous answer.

I see the above question as being "If I focus Triumph of Courage normally in my duel, then move it into my discard pile by exchanging it with another card via its own effect, is it also removed from the game via that effect?" not "If I somehow add Triumph of Courage to my focusing Area after normal focusing is it still considered focussed and therefore removed?" as the the answerer seemed to interpret it.

I think the answer to the former question is "no" (contrary to the given answer), because after it switches itself into the discard pile, it is no longer a "focused card". Please re-evaluate the initial question, or at least tell me if I am correctly answering my own interpretation regardless of the previous post.
