Using the following texts:
L5R Rulebook- Transfer: To move an attached card from one Personality or Province to another. You do not need to pay the costs of the transferred card because it is not entering play. You still need to meet restrictions on the new attachment when you transfer.
Daigotsu Kaikou: Battle: Target an attachment opposing Kaikou. Transfer it to Kaikou or destroy it.
Koutetsu Chikara: Can only attach to a Unicorn Personality
Can Kaikou take the armor off of a random Unicorn Personality or would it merely be destroyed?

If you choose to transfer it, the transfer effect is negated because he is not a Unicorn Clan personality. Destruction is probably the more useful choice in that situation.
