A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I believe what he was getting at was that "Fate and Spider Clan cards", according to the referenced ruling would, technically, be parsed as "Fate Clan cards or Spider Clan cards".
Since there are no "Fate Clan cards", only "Spider Clan cards" would have their losses negated.
The stronghold, according to this incredibly rules lawyery reading, would not negate honor losses caused by fate cards.

It doesn't work that way.

"Spider Clan" is a single Keyword. You can't be "Spider Clan" by having the separate "Spider" and "Clan" keywords.
All the Faction traits are specified in this fashion.
