Created Cards vs Tokens

L5R CCG Rules board, 4 August 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

The Samurai Edition rulebook is a little vague on the issue. Per the comprehensive rules site, tokens will never give you honor at battle resolution, does this apply to created cards as well (example Hida Dayu's created 2F followers).

My play group is unsure because during battle resolution you gain honor equal to twice the number of opposing cards destroyed. The definition of destroyed is a card that enters the discard pile from play, but created cards never enter the discard pile, they are instead removed from game.

Or would you gain the 2 honor in resolution for Dayu's followers and not for anything else that does not use the word 'card' (such as Venerable Master).

Thank you

No. Cards gain honor, created or not.
