A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Requisitioned Troops tells us to "return the follower to its owner's hand". Can this be done on a follower that never was in the hand, or are all followers presumed to have been in hand at one time or another?
Further, does "return it to hand" imply that it must have been attached from hand and not from the discard pile?
Thank you.

A created card ceases to exist when it leaves play. A created card that cannot enter play ceases to exist.
It is legal to attempt to return a created card to its owner's hand. Instead of going to its owner's hand, it ceases to exist.
