Let me say first this card is sort of a headache.
Under Samurai Edition Rules:
Question 1: I control a defending dishonorable courtier personality, and my opponent plays an unexpected betrayal, targetting him. My opponent also controls a dishonorable personality in his army. So i react with misdirection, choosing his dishonorable personality instead (technically possible, as he is in an army, and the card text doesn't demand it to be an enemy army). So would his personality be unable to perform actions but still add force to his army as usual (rendering the second effect of unexpected betrayal simply pointless)?
Question 2: This time I wasn't that lucky and he succesfully targetted my dishonorable courtier, so my pretty traitor now cannot perform actions and adds force to my enemy's army. But then all personalities in that army are destroyed and/or sent home, and his army is now empty. What happens to my personality's force? Does she still add force to my enemy army (even if empty), adds again her force to my army, or simply doesn't add force to any army at all?
