A Noble End wording issue, part 3 - "For" and "For each"

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 July 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

You can't say "For each" without saying, "For." That "for each" indicates that an effect is proportionate does not imply that it is not dependent (what "for" indicates). ---

So any card that has "for each" in the text necessarily includes "for" as well? If that's the case, could you explain the relevance of "For" in the text of a card like Matsu Benika? Relevant text: "Benika has +1F for each Nonhuman card at her battlefield."

I'm having trouble with this interpretation of the rules after "Crane Clan Champion" was determined to be too difficult to parse.

EDIT: The rules were updated last night to clarify this situation. Thanks, Roger!
