Misdirection + Outer wall or Rapid deployement

L5R CCG Rules board, 9 July 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Is it possible to redirect the outer wall choice of province.

And when redirecting target of a rapid deployement (or other movement action). is it possible to choose targets taht has already be in resolution this turn?

If so i suppose the movement of thoose units are then negated.

Misdirection

Focus Effect: You may shuffle up to 3 Personalities from your discard pile into your Dynasty deck. Political Gozoku Reaction: Before another player would choose targets for one of his action’s effects during a battle, target one of your Courtier or Gozoku Personalities: You choose the targets instead.

Outer wall

Battle: Even if you control no units at the current battlefield: Target a Province. Give it +3 strength.

Reaction: After a Ranged Attack is produced: Reduce its strength by 2.

Rapid deployment

Battle: Target a Samurai Personality you control at the current battlefield: Target two units you control that aren't at the current battlefield. Move them there. Straighten each that moved into the defending army.

No. There is never another "current" battle.

Would they be legal targets for the initial action? If so, you can redirect. If not, you can't.
