Seidan Sanzo vs. Daizu pt. 2

L5R CCG Rules board, 28 June 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

ChrisF states:

The first destruction effect will trigger, Daizu dies, returns via trait, second destruction effect triggers, Daizu dies again.

Or, if you choose not to use Daizu's trait after the first destruction, the second destruction would be negated, and there would be no destruction to trigger his trait.

Aren't all the multiple destructions simultaneous? He's destroyed three times at once, after-which his trait would trigger no? There's nothing inherently conflicting about having them simultaneous, so the player shouldn't need to resolve them one at a time (or choose the order they come in)?

Chris Fuchs (rules official), 28 June 2007

If multiple effects are caused by a single piece of text they occur simultaneously, unless otherwise specified by language such as “consecutively.” Examples: “Bow all Oni”; “Dishonor two Samurai”.
