Open Actions

L5R CCG Rules board, 20 June 2007 to 21 June 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I just started and i just have a question about "open". Can you only play them on the Action Step?

Zen Faulkes (rules official), 21 June 2007

Open Actions: Can you only play them on the Action Step?

Point: There is no "Action Step."

Lotus rules, pg. 41: "Open Actions: You can take Open actions during any player’s Action Phase and any Battle Action Segment."

This will soon be changing, however.

Comprehensive Rules (Samurai): "An ability may be used when its designator indicates: At an opportunity to act in any player’s Action Phase if it is Open(.)"
