Yes.
Thanks for the quick response last time, 11 minutes is mighty swift, I am hoping you might expound upon the basis for the timing so I might better understand the rules myself.
Kiho Reaction: Bow a Monk or Shugenja you control when an opponent discards an Action card without having used its printed effect. Shuffle The Path Not Taken back into your fate deck. Until the end of the game, each of your Path Not Taken cards becomes a Kiho that performs one of the actions on the discarded Action card, if you bow a Shugenja or Monk you control to perform it.
Once per turn, this Personality can perform an action from a Kiho ability on a card in your discard pile (observing the Kiho's restrictions); then, remove the card from the game.
It is impossible to track effects on different face-down cards mixed together. Therefore, all “memory” of the status of individual cards ends when the card enters a deck, a hand, or another area where it’s both face-down and out of play. This includes dishonorable status, ongoing effects, and whether or not an ability has been used.
“Memory” of effects that do not distinguish between individual copies of a card remains even when the card is both face-down and out of play. Example: An effect on “All Samurai you own, in and out of play” works even on cards that are face-down in decks.
If I'm reading the trait if the Sohei correctly, it has more then one clause, and that these clauses happen in a sequential order as indicated by the presence of "...; Then, ..."
I would interpret this in two parts, the first being, the performance of a Kiho in its entirety, aside from the express exceptions allowed by this trait, as such a kiho would normally be preformed, paying all costs and resolving all effects.
Only after this has happened in its entirety would it then get to the second part wherein the Kiho is removed from the game. At this point, however, if this Kiho has been preformed in its entirety, according to the tracking rule, posted and linked above for convenience, this particular card becomes effectively indistinguishable from the remainder of the deck and thus protected from removal by the Sohei's trait.
Where have I erred in my interpretations that I get a different answer then yours?
Your insight in this matter will be greatly appreciated,
Kazu.
