Stronghold-The dark path of shadow/Army chi

L5R CCG Rules board, 22 May 2007 to 23 May 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Yes, I know this card is bit old, but I got most of my cards from a friend who played the game during Pearl edition.

HidaAkira and I disagree a bit on a few things in last night's game.

To attack an army with the Stronghold-The dark path of shadow, the army needs to have a combined Chi of 10 or higher or else be sent home from the battle bowed.

His Crab army had a total Chi of 12.

I use a card that bows one or two units with gold cost lesser than 7 and bow on of his units with Chi 4.

Do bowed cards contribute Chi bonus to the army's bonus?

I figured that since bowed cards can't contribute Force, the same thing goes for Chi, but HidaAkira didn't agree on that.

Do bowed cards contribute Chi bonus to the army's bonus?

Yes. Rules Archive, Dark Path of Shadow: "Being bowed does not stop a card from adding its Chi to the army."
