L5R CCG Rules board, 7 May 2006

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

hi, in reference to my original question here:

http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40235

i just read this ruling today:

http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41192

it would seem that in the first instance, the ruling is that cards such as Overwhelmed that force a player to target one of his own Personalities, that Personality is not targeted by the player of the action as well, whereas in the second one, it is being said that the originating player of an action does in fact target the personality even though the controller of the personality targeting them is the one selecting the target.

if i am missing something, please explain what it is, and why these rulings do not conflict. if i am not missing something, please tell me which ruling to abide by.
