A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Phoenix Clan Thunder. Void Shugenja. Disciple of the Kami. Experienced 7. Unique. Loyal May overlay any Phoenix Clan Shugenja you control. Isawa may cast Spells in your hands as if they were attached to him, except those whose costs would remove the Spell from play. Discard any Spell that he casts this way, after it resolves.

Is he able to cast spells like walking the way or fist of osano-wo? is it considered putting a spell into play so that i could react with talented apprentice?

No. The spell never enters play; it is "in your hand," then discarded.
