Quick Questions for someone new

L5R CCG Rules board, 29 August 2015 to 30 August 2015

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Just started playing again with the 20F edition stater decks and a booster box. Had a couple quick rules questions after trying to make a deck and fishbowl through some opening turns.

1) Can a province have more than one Fortification? Or does a new one replace the existing one? 2) Dueling, quote from the rule book that comes in the deck tin; "To focus you either choose a card from your hand, or take the top card of your Fate deck without looking at it, and put it face down in a special focused cards area in front of you... A player may look at the cards he or she has already focused at any time." So...am I allowed to look at the cards I focus?

I believe that's it for the moment, I'm sure more questions will come up as things are worked out.

1) A Province can have any number of Fortifications attached to it; there are no restrictions.

2) You can't look at the top card of your deck BEFORE you decide to focus it, but once you've decided to focus it, then you can look at it (so that you can further decide HOW to focus it, if it happens to be Smoke and Mirrors or a similar card).
