On Storm Born Wings problem

L5R CCG Rules board, 11 July 2015 to 13 July 2015

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 11 July 2015

If I have two copies of On Storm Born Wings (OSBW) and I target two different personalities (A and B) what is my opponent required to do?

It appears that my opponent's next battle action must target personality A *AND* target personality B, so unless they have an action that can target both of them, they have no legal targets.

It's not legal to target personality A due to the OSBW that's on personality B and it's not legal to just target personality B due to the OSBW targeting personality A.

Does this mean my opponent cannot target any of my cards (unless they have an action that targets multiple personalities)?

Thunder Engage: A great storm surrounds your army. Give your target Personality +1F. The next time the enemy leader targets one of your cards in this battle with a Battle action, they must target that Personality, if legal.

Thanks,

Per the CR under Choice Conflicts, in a case such as this a player is free to target either Personality under the effects of On Storm Born Wings (but may not target another Personality).
