Would Resist Magic negate only the destruction aspect of Redirecting Rage, or the whole action?
Resist Magic: Interrupt: After an action on a Kiho, Shugenja, or Spell targets your cards, negate its remaining effects.
Redirecting Rage: Fire Kiho Battle: Melee Attack equal to your target Monk or Shugenja's Force or Chi. Destroy that Monk or Shugenja.

Would Resist Magic negate only the destruction aspect of Redirecting Rage, or the whole action?
There are two required targets for Redirecting Rage: your Monk or Shugenja, and the target of the Melee attack.
As per the Action Sequence, you choose these two cards in step C; however, you are not considered to actually target them until step E, Action Resolution, which is when you verify that the targets are legal. At that point, if either player played Resist Magic in step D, Interrupts, then its effect triggers, and negates the effects of Redirecting Rage: neither the target of the Melee Attack nor your Monk or Shugenja is destroyed.
