Card text equivalencies

L5R CCG Rules board, 14 February 2015 to 15 February 2015

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If Look, Show and Reveal are now the same functional thing for cards interacting with one or all of those words, can Discard*, Discard**, Discard***. Discard**** and Discard***** also be functionally equivalent for, at the very least, things that look at unspecified Discard, given that the rules still say 'is Discarded' does not carry the same "can only refer to a fate card being discarded from hand" that "Discard a Card" does, and will instead refer to the card text?

*from hand **from play ***from a province ****from a fate deck *****from a dynasty deck

There are no plans to change the rules in this way at this time. By the way. Look and Show are still different from Reveal, which keeps the card face-up.
