clarification inquiry - priestly feud & secluded outpost

L5R CCG Rules board, 26 January 2015 to 28 January 2015

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 26 January 2015

with the errata for priestly feud viewtopic.php?f=59&t=110904

if an cost/effect bows the losing personality, i am assuming that 'must' will not trump the requirement for the personality to be assigned as unbowed - right?

as a follow-up to this thread for overpaying viewtopic.php?f=59&t=111032

Costs If there is a star (*) in the icon, it means that the player can choose to pay any amount of Gold, and the effect scales to the amount paid.

Recruit Repeatable Dynasty, (*): Bring into play...

given these, would i be able to bow Secluded Outpost to produce 0g when i declare to recruit a 0g personality? if yes, can i then interrupt to equip an attachment netting a reduction of 4g plus the 4g change i have from recruiting?

cheers!

You may not assign a bowed Personality who "must assign", unless some effect allows you to assign him while bowed.

If you bow the Secluded Outpost to produce gold, but none of its gold is spent on the Recruit action, it did not "bow to produce Gold to Recruit a Personality," so you may not use its Interrupt.
