Negating Victory Through Deference with Interrupt the Void's Flow

L5R CCG Rules board, 23 January 2015 to 28 January 2015

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 23 January 2015

Invest 1: Draw a card. Battle/Open: Remove one to three non-Ring cards in discard piles from the game. You may target a Personality and remove one of his abilities or boldface keywords (this turn). Take an additional action.

If I use Interrupt the Void's Flow to negate another player's VTD, but he invested 1, does he still get to draw the card?

No, as the Invest trait's effects "are added to the action’s effects ... and become part of the action."
