When using paying for the action on A Ready Soul / Proper Equipment and assuming I am equiping an item. Am I paying for a strategy or for the item or both? Looking at interaction with Yoritomo Nishigori?

Nishigori may produce 3g for A Ready Soul, and, if you use it to Equip an Armour or Weapon, Toil of the Zokujin will produce 2g for it.
