Judging vs. Rules

L5R CCG Rules board, 13 October 2014 to 14 October 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A hypothetical:

A judge makes a ruling in a tournament. It is revealed that the ruling is incorrect, incontrovertibly, by a previously existing post in the rules forum. The judge decides that he will be consistent with his rulings throughout the tournament.

My game comes up. The situation recurs. The judge rules consistently with his former (incorrect) ruling. I contend that the judge is demonstrably wrong, and offer evidence. The judge refuses to change his ruling.

What happens?

This is more of a Floor Rules question, but throughout the history of the game (and frankly, every game), the Head Judge Is Never Wrong (until the tournament ends). You play by their ruling.
