False Ring of Fire and "no maximum hand size"

L5R CCG Rules board, 18 August 2014 to 19 August 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Questions: For False Ring of Fire, does having no maximum hand size (per things like Togashi's Guidance) allow you to put the FRoF into play? Or because you no longer have a numerical hand size to check against are you unable to?

Bizarre question and potentially dumb, I know.

False Ring of Fire: Open: If your maximum hand size is 10 or more, put this Ring into play and lose 2 Honor.

Togashi's Guidance: Dragon Clan players have no maximum hand size.

No, no; it's a fair question.

EDIT: REVERSAL! See below.

After some discussion, it was agreed that the Comprehensive Rule's statement that "A player with no maximum hand size has an effectively infinite maximum hand size" means that such a player does have a hand size that is measurably "more than 10". Therefore, you CAN put the False Ring into play via the combo you suggest.
