Black Riders let you use another player's gold-producing traits on a holding "as if you controlled it.". Is "as if you controlled it" distinct from controlling it? I was meaning to ask when Tsujiken Sensei was previewed, but forgot until I saw this answer, where "considered" to have something is not the same as having it.
A practical application (and a more practical question): I target my opponent's holding (with a gold-producing trait) with Tsujiken Sensei. I then target it with Black Riders and bow it to produce gold. Who is the controller and therefore who loses the point of honour?
A somewhat linked question. Can I announce the equip ability during an action phase, pay an amount of gold (in this case hopefully causing the opponent an honour loss due to Tsujiken) and then not equip a card? This answer seems to suggest yes. I ask because I want to cause my opponent the honour loss but may have nothing to equip or recruit (or any other way to spend the gold). Not having to target the attachment in the equip ability gives it a very wide application and might be open to abuse, especially as the amount of gold paid can be 0.
