Temple of Serenity without spells

L5R CCG Rules board, 26 July 2014 to 3 August 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 26 July 2014

I announce the battle action on Temple of Serenity, I don't have a spell in my hand so the equip fail, but I still get honor.

Is the above play legal? What happens if I do have a spell but for some reason I don't want to use it right now, can I decide not to equip anything?

Thanks!

Equipping does not target the attachment, so you may announce Temple of Serenity's action and gain 2 honour without attaching a spell.
