Daigotsu Geiko and Resolving action

L5R CCG Rules board, 16 July 2014 to 19 July 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hi,

Daigotsu Geiko : After a Dark Virtue, Fear, or Maho action resolves, if Geiko is at the current battlefield, give him +1F.

Kikage Zumi Initiate :Negate Fear effects targeting this Follower.

Can I make a Fear 3 effect on Kikage Zumi Initiate ? The action will resolve, but the follower won't bow and Geiko will still receive +1F ? I guess the action still resolve, only the effect is negated and Geiko doesn't need the effect to be succesful to trigger, right ?

But if a card would negate the Action itself, then I guess Geido wouldn't gain the +1F ? (don't have an example handy, sorry)

Thank you for clarifying this for me. *edit : Precision in title...sorry*

Your first inclination is correct. You make target Kikage Zumi Initiates with a Fear effect, its effects (bowing) will be negated, but Geiko will still gain his +1F.
