Outnumbered reads:
"Battle: Give all your opposed Personalities with Followers at the current battlefield +1F. Give all enemy Personalities there without Followers -1F."
Does this create an ongoing effect that checks for personalities that match the criteria and grants them effects as long as they do, or does it create bonuses that stick to personalities that qualified at the time Outnumbered was played?
Down to specifics: If my Personality A has a follower and I played Outnumbered, but then my opponent destroys his follower, does Personality A still get +1?
I just began playing L5R, and I am still trying to learn how the cards should be read.

The latter. Once it's given, there aren't later checks to see if you keep it or not. Such effects that continuously check are usually traits, and/or they'd state their duration such as, "While your opposed Personalities have Followers, they have +1F."
