Naming Cards and Created Cards

L5R CCG Rules board, 18 April 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Given this and this (note, the latter was also asked here and expounded on here in the floor rules forum, and never answered there).

If players can agree to use [accurate] card descriptions in lieu of actual titles, would they still be prohibited from "naming" a created card in play?

I completely understand if this should be posed again in the floor rules thread instead of here.

Created cards, unless given a title by the effect that creates them, do not have a title.

Merely describing the a card so that a title doesn't have to be given is not itself naming the card, it is providing a player agreed upon shortcut to determine the title of a card.

If a card does not have a title, it cannot be named.
