An End To Hostilities

L5R CCG Rules board, 31 March 2014 to 1 April 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Can we get a bump on this (unanswered for two months) viewtopic.php?f=59&t=106755&p=1406174&hilit=An+End+to+Hostilities#p1406174

Also, with regards to this: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=106817&p=1406896&hilit=An+End+to+Hostilities#p1406896

I don't quite understand the last post. It would seem like Isawa Shunryu would cause An End to Hostilities to not cause you to draw an additional card since you drew a card at before drawing cards at the end of your turn. But the response seems to indicate (without actually saying so) that you would draw 3 cards each turn if you have An End To Hostilities and Isawa Shunryu out.

So, if I play Game of Dice, have An End to Hostilities in effect, and Isawa Shunryu in play, then I would draw 5 cards at the end of my turn?

The post you mention makes no implication or indication, in either direction, on the matter. It simply explains the wording and the reasons behind it. Shunryu says "cards" because it is possible to draw multiple cards in the end-of-turn draw, so using the singular "card" could be imprecise.

To answer your question, Shunryu would activate before the end-of-turn draw, so when An End to Hostilities tries to check whether you "put cards in your hand that turn" or not, the answer is that you did and you wouldn't draw the extra card.

I'm answering also the other referenced post, but Shunryu + An End to Hostilities + A Game of Dice means just 4 cards at the end of the turn (2 from AGoD, 1 from Shunryu and the regular one)
